Role Summary

In the role of Civil Aviation BIM Specialist 3, we count on you to perform drafting and design activities within a drawing production engineering technician capacity, under minimum supervision.

Responsibilities
  • Perform basic functions requiring technical knowledge utilizing electronic applications, processes, standards and document control procedures to create or modify deliverables.
  • Evaluate methods used to accomplish drafting and/or design activities.
  • Draft/design HDR Aviation projects in Civil 3D and other Autodesk products.
  • Develop or modify deliverables based on rough sketches, marked-up copies, and/or detailed verbal instructions.
  • Develop deliverables with necessary views, sections, and details using Company and/or Client standards and procedures with supervision.
  • Learn and understand project and Company standards and procedures.
  • Perform minor computations such as material quantity estimates and dimensional checks, as assigned.
  • May learn new programs or processes required for assignments.
  • Continuously evaluate methods used to accomplish the activities assigned.
  • Ensure deliverables are compliant with Company and/or Client Standards, sketches, marked copies and written or verbal instructions.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Computer Automated Drafting Design (CADD) or other design or modeling skills
  • Basic knowledge of engineering standards, systems, document control, and departmental guides
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture
  • Experience/knowledge in one or more of the following:
    Civil 3D and Autodesk Construction Cloud, drafting/design in multiple software programs
  • Basic ability to interpret engineering deliverable content
Required Qualifications
  • Technical degree or a combination of education and related industry experience
  • A minimum of 5 years related industry experience
  • Advanced skillset of 3D design software and document management infrastructure
  • Advanced skillset of 3D Coordination tool
  • Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools
  • Advanced understanding of engineering or architectural concepts
  • Knowledge of industry standards and practices, along with discipline codes and specifications
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and organizational traits
