JE Dunn’s Advanced Facilities Group (AFG) combines Mission Critical, Advanced Industries, and Industrial & Manufacturing into one high‑performing team focused on cutting‑edge work to serve innovative clients on large Industrial & Manufacturing, Data Center, and Semiconductor projects. As part of the Advanced Facilities team, you'll work on some of the most advanced construction projects across the country, growing your career alongside our diverse team of industry professionals.

Role

Summary

The Virtual Design Construction Manager will provide routine and non‑routine Building Information Modeling (BIM) administration and coordination to assigned projects. This position will be responsible for providing more complex models and documents, providing BIM technical support to internal teams and leading facilitation of 3D coordination. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make most decisions autonomously and consult with supervisor as needed.
  • Core responsibilities include managing VDC processes and activities to support assigned projects.
  • Provide models and documents necessary to complete scope as determined with VDC/BIM leadership and project teams.
  • Create and maintain clear and effective project documentation; meeting agendas, meeting minutes, and constraint logs.
  • Read and interpret shop drawings, submittals, product data and incorporate all necessary items into the BIM process.
  • Support operations with the RFI process for BIM related items.
  • Maintain and produce a productive and efficient BIM process.
  • Collaborate with VDC Directors and Self‑Perform VDC to ensure general VDC services, deliverables, and schedules are maintained to meet project objectives.
  • Maintain working relationships with owners, subcontractors and project teams.
  • Read and interpret owner requirements, BIM execution plans, front end scopes of work, and ensure minimum project requirements are met.
  • Develop composite model by assembling 3D content provided by designers and trade contractors; create models for any content not provided.
  • Lead the VDC processes and standards.
  • Manage the change process and incorporate into all project models. Track and communicate schedule and budget impacts to operations teams in a timely manner.
  • Provide BIM technical support to internal project teams.
  • Participate in the development of project‑specific BIM execution plans and budgets.
  • Implement best practices and processes.
  • Lead design and project teams through VDC process on multiple large projects.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams by providing model‑based support and solutions.
  • Implement and lead project‑specific VDC strategy to meet overall objectives and goals.
  • Implement BIM/field layout processes on projects (Self‑Perform VDC Focused).
  • Identify BIM/self‑perform scopes of work and support BIM/VDC self‑perform processes (Self‑Perform VDC Focused).
  • Possibly supervise and lead others.
