Job Description:
We seek an experienced CCUS Engineer to join our Downstream Process Engineering Division (DPED) within the Process and Control Systems Department (P& CSD). This division provides expertise and support in refining and flare/relief systems.
The role involves providing technical expertise, supporting refining operations, coordinating techno-economic studies, and leading CCUS projects across Saudi Arabia. The engineer will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and offer expert insights on CCUS matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with operations to understand needs and deliver suitable designs and services.
- Review existing systems for improvements and conduct continuous improvement studies.
- Lead initiatives to enhance performance, optimize systems, and increase revenue.
- Develop standards and guidelines for CCUS projects in Saudi Arabia.
- Design and review engineering calculations and packages by contractors.
- Present technical papers and deliver presentations internationally.
- Use process simulation software (e.g., HYSYS) for modeling and assessment.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct training sessions.
- Work independently and foster a positive work environment.
- Provide operational support as a technical advisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering; higher education preferred.
- At least 20 years of experience in the CCS value chain, including CO2 storage projects and geological considerations.
- Expertise in CCS processes, technologies, and related economic and policy frameworks.
- Knowledge of CCS project costs, policies like carbon tax, cap-and-trade, and carbon pricing.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
