At Ervin Cable Construction, LLC, as a Senior Plant Engineer, you'll lead cross-functional teams to design and implement advanced systems and processes, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications. You'll engage with stakeholders and mentor junior engineers to deliver high-quality results that exceed customer expectations.

• Coordinate with remote drafting and GIS personnel to produce construction drawings for the network

• Plan, design, and obtain permits for new cable routes

• Work as part of a multi-faceted team of engineering, construction, project management, and scheduling personnel, all with a common interest of delivering results to the customer

• Engage regularly with the customer’s engineering team and project management for updates and feedback

• Provide frequent project progress updates and risk assessments to the management team

• Design aerial and underground fiber optic routes

• Other duties as assigned

• To be 18 years of age or older

• Authorization to work in the United States for this company

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, plus at least three years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination

• Proficient with Excel & Word

• Telecommunications industry standards

• Regulations for OSP facilities

• Aerial and underground construction methods and engineering requirements

• Government permit requirements

• OSP facilities, construction techniques and conduit records

• Easement, right of way and permit documents

• AutoCAD/Microstation or Geographic Information Systems

• Fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics

• Routinely: operate vehicle, walk, use keyboard and mouse

• Occasionally: climb stairs and stand
