The role supports the airport by directing traffic at the main terminal to help reduce traffic congestion and direct pedestrians to certain areas.
Base pay range$23.00/hr
- Location: Brasilia Ave., Kansas City, MO
- Compensation: $23/hr
- Shift: PT 9:00-5:30 Open Availability
- Willingness to work in all elements—heat, wind, snow, rain, etc.
- Reliable transportation is required as this is a more remote location.
- Working holidays is mandatory—primary focus is directing holiday traffic.

Job Duties
- Greets and assists the traveling public with a professional and cordial demeanor.
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic at the main terminal to ensure curbside is free of unattended vehicles.
- Act as liaison between the airport, traveling public, tenants, vendors, and ground transportation companies to ensure compliance with local rules and regulations.
- Assist the public with general inquiries, most importantly parking and ground transportation options.
- Work independently and with team members, reporting to a field supervisor.
- Resolve customer complaints in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with problem‑solving skills.
- Follow instructions and pre‑established guidelines to perform job functions.
- Maintain terminal, curbside, and parking areas presentable through monitoring, setting up or removing signs, sweeping, and trash removal.
- Ability to mitigate and lead others through challenges.
- Ability to work independently and multitask.
- Interpret policies, procedures, and standard business practices.
- Willingness to work early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, tenants, agencies, and the traveling public.
- Demonstrate a sense of urgency and timeliness.
- Open to feedback, differing opinions, and other viewpoints.
- Interpersonal skills necessary for courteous interaction while directing traffic.
- Handle challenging and emotionally charged situations.
- Speak, read, and comprehend English.
- Make independent decisions and stay firm on them.
- Willingness to work in all elements.
- Lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
- Stand, walk, and run for extended periods.
- Bend, stoop, squat, and lift frequently throughout a shift.
