CompensationRange
Annual Salary: $72,500 - $109,000 (amount based on relevant experience, skills, and competencies). The position is eligible for additional performance‑based incentive plans.
Essential Functions- Manage a large portfolio of diverse and complex commercial relationships using critical thinking skills.
- Participate in customer outreach with Relationship Managers, especially for active new credit opportunities.
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for mature commercial relationships, ensuring high customer satisfaction and retention. Present these relationships at the annual loan committee meeting.
- Handle customer service requests for existing relationships, including loan renewals and modifications.
- Work with Relationship Managers on credit requests: underwriting, loan structuring, negotiating/pricing, collateral, and industry/credit risk analysis.
- Complete all requirements of loan booking: negotiating terms, reviewing documentation, and assisting in closing, with Relationship Managers and Specialists as needed.
- Monitor and report on loans: past dues, documentation, collateral exceptions, financial statements, borrowing bases, and portfolio profitability.
- Manage watch‑list credits, prepare quarterly watch‑list reports, and present at watch‑list meetings.
- Ensure compliance with bank policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Basic knowledge of commercial products, credit policies, procedures, and terminology.
- Basic analytical, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to prepare accurate credit memos with appropriate analysis.
- Some independent decision‑making skills, with regular management oversight.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license and meet Commerce Bank’s driving record criteria.
- Motivated, organized self‑starter with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Inquisitive, agile, strong team player with excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Function as a key team player across multiple diverse teams within the Business Banking Division.
- Remain adaptable and resilient, maintain an optimistic outlook, and align with culture and core values.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 1+ years of commercial banking experience required.
For this position, Commerce Bank will review the applicant’s motor vehicle driving record and, under federal regulations, will file an investigatory consumer report disclosing credit history. Applicants must authorize the review if considered for the role.
