Controller – Financial Services Organization Overview
A growing financial services organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting function during a period of continued growth and increasing financial complexity.afé this role is well‑suited for a senior accounting leader who enjoys hands‑on ownership, building strong internal controls, and partnering closely with executive leadership.
The Controller will oversee financial reporting, close, audit readiness, cash flow oversight, and accounting team leadership, with regular exposure to executive and board‑level reporting.
Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Close- Own the preparation and accuracy of GAAP financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Present financial results, trends, and insights to executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Coordinate tax filings and related reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
- Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with leadership.
- Monitor performance against budget and analyze variances with actionable[idx](re? No? index??).

- Develop financial models to evaluate business opportunities, profitability, returns, and capital allocation decisions.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure sufficient liquidity for operations and growth.
- Develop balance sheet strategies to support working capital needs and financial stability.
- Support the management of fundingatahi? Wait, keep correct: support management of funding facilities, borrowing base requirements, and covenant compliance.
- Serve as a key finance contact for external capital or lending partners.
- Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls in accordance with GAAP.
- Ensure audit readiness and coordinate internal and external audits.
- Drive remediation of audit findings and continuous improvement of controls and processes.
- Lead and develop the accounting team, including oversight of senior accounting staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance feedback.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Prior leadership experience managing and developing accounting teams.
- Strong GAAP knowledge with experience in complex balance sheet environments.
- Experience in financial services or capital-intensive businesses preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Net Suite and Excel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner cross‑functionally and with senior leadership.
