Summary
The RN Trauma Registrar, under the direction of the Trauma Program Manager, is responsible for abstracting information from identified trauma medical records as required to complete the trauma registry and facilitate performance improvement/patient safety activities.
ExperienceTwo years of ED/Trauma nursing experience. Must have a strong clinical experience to analyze data from the medical records to help identify opportunities for improvement and/or areas of concern for both nursing and physicians. This position is an integral member of the trauma multi‑disciplinary trauma team to support patient quality and performance improvement activities. This position will also serve as the Lead in Trauma Registry.
OtherDemonstrates strong analytical and communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; excellent organization skills with the ability to prioritize requests and assignments; self‑directed with initiative to function independently as needed; computer skills in word processing (Word, Excel, etc.) and data management.
License/Certification- RN (Registered Nurse) – State of Missouri
- BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association) within 6 months of hire
- AAIS (Association of the Advancement of Automotive Medicine – Injury Scaling Course) within 1 year of hire
- ATSTRC (American Trauma Society Trauma Registrar Course) within 1 year of hire
- ICD‑10 Course within 1 year of hire
