Director of EHS

Corporate Office, Kansas City, MO.
Hours:
8:00 AM-5:00 PM. Classification:
Exempt. Job Type: Full‑time. Salary: $ – $ per year.
- Develop & implement policies and procedures to ensure employee safety and prevent environmental risks.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Develop, monitor, and deliver training programs/materials to ensure compliance with required EHS policies.
- Perform monitoring and internal control activities to assure compliance with EHS policies and procedures.
- Direct work of employees designated as worksite‑specific EHS representatives.
- Develop incident‑response procedures and lead all incident‑response efforts.
- Ensure health and safety equipment (defibrillators, first aid kits, fire extinguishers, etc.) are functioning and maintained.
- Travel to all company locations (Kansas, Missouri, Texas) to perform inspections, training, and incident response.
- Serve as main point of contact for all safety and environmental regulatory agencies.
- Maintain records of EHS activities, including OSHA, EPA, DOT compliance, training certifications, equipment/worksite inspections.
- Oversee regulatory compliance annual assessments for all sites and the corporate office.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders & stakeholders for EHS planning and strategy implementation.
- Conduct qualitative exposure and gap assessments and maintain documentation.
- Advise executive leadership on all EHS matters.
- Manage the EHS budget, portfolio, projects, and personnel.
- 5 years’ experience leading an EHS program within the manufacturing industry.
- BS degree.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and DOT compliance requirements.
- OSHA 501 Outreach Training Program certification.
- CSM/CSD/ASP/CSP certification.
- Process Safety Management certification.
- CPR and First Aid certifications.
- Familiarity with MOC, PSSR, JHA, OSHA 300 reporting, etc.
- Preferred Certified Safety Professional.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Valid driver’s license; travel up to 60% to various U.S. worksites by automobile and/or air travel.
- Standing and sitting for prolonged periods in an office setting.
- Must be able to lift and transport health and safety equipment (defibrillators, fire extinguishers, first aid kits, etc.).
- Must stand, walk, climb stairs, bend, and kneel during inspections that may last extended periods.
- Must work in confined and/or elevated spaces.
- Must work in extreme weather conditions as needed.

BS degree (Preferred). Manufacturing experience: 5 years. EHS experience: 5 years.
Schedule- 8‑hour shift.
- Monday to Friday.
