Collections Supervisor Responsibilities

• Supervises blood collections at fixed and mobile sites.
• Trained on all tasks required of Donor Care Technicians I, II, III, IV & V (as applicable).
• Functions as a resource for staff regarding donor criteria and vein suitability.
• Provides support for donor questions, concerns, and difficult venipunctures.
• Reviews QC documentation and ensures staff compliance with SOPs.
• Determines job assignments, breaks, and mealtimes for staff.
• Coordinates with the mobile chairperson and volunteers.
• Handles emergencies that occur during collections.
• Ensures compliance with CBC safety policies and procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality of personal information regarding donors and staff.
• Responds to staffing problems, donor and staff complaints, and provides counseling as needed.
• Provides written evaluation of staff performance and compliance with SOPs.
• Documents staff behavior and/or attendance issues when required.
• Promotes customer service and a positive image of CBC to the community.
• Maintains prompt and regular attendance.
• Responds to temperature/humidity alarms (as applicable).
• Maintains and reconciles monthly equipment inventory (as applicable).
• Confidently communicates and interprets intermediate information in English to all members of the public and staff.

• Degree in business or biological science preferred or equivalent experience.
• Phlebotomy certificate preferred.
• Current CPR certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.

• Prefer an individual with at least 12 months of experience in blood collections, phlebotomy, and familiarity with CDC, FDA, AABB and OSHA regulations.

• Mobile Staff:
  Must have and maintain a valid operator’s license (MO class E, KS class
  
  C).
• Fixed Site Staff:
  Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

• Excellent knowledge of donor criteria and interview and blood collection procedures.
• Excellent knowledge of vein suitability.
• Excellent knowledge of blood collection complications and care procedures to follow.

• Computer skills.
• Phlebotomy skills.
• Good driving skills (as applicable).

• Ability to manage staff within attendance and performance guidelines.

Under the supervision of the Site Manager / Manager of Mobile Operations / Field Supervisor / Assistant Manager, assumes responsibility for supervising the staff in collections at fixed and/or mobile sites. Monitors the collection activities to ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures. Serves as resource for donor eligibility and phlebotomy complications. Responsible for meeting projected production goals. Delegates duties to staff;

coordinates with mobile chairperson. Promotes a positive image of CBC to the community. Performs duties of Site Manager in their absence.
