Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position.

Monday to Friday, with on-call requirements for nights and weekends.

The Cardiovascular Operating Room Technician (OR Tech III) plays a critical role in assisting during heart surgeries. This position requires expertise in handling the necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring quality patient care while maintaining a sterile environment.

• Prepare and manage surgical instruments and supplies for heart surgical procedures.
• Understand and anticipate the needs of the surgeon during operations.
• Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure.
• Assist the surgeon and/or surgical assistant during operations, including tasks such as sponging, suctioning, cutting suture, holding retractors, and manipulating endoscopic cameras.

• Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) required upon hire.
• Two years prior experience in a similar facility with similar services.
• Competency to lead in specialty areas including Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, Burn, and Vascular Surgery.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Experience with cardiac surgeries, including coronary artery bypass, valve replacements, and da Vinci assisted thoracoscopy.
