Staffing Coordinator
Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City is seeking a Staffing Coordinator to join our team. You will ensure optimal use of clinical staff in order to provide high quality and cost effective care. This position coordinates, organizes, and prepares work schedules for nursing units in the Float Pool to ensure the appropriate amount of staff is available.
Shift DetailsFull Time Day - 36 hours a week
Responsibilities- Collaborates with House Supervisor and Unit Managers regarding staffing and scheduling to resolve issues in a proactive manner
- Assigns centralized float pool staff on daily basis according to census
- Monitors staffing and census levels routinely in coordination with the Staffing Analyst, alerting unit when staffing needs to be adjusted
- Receives and records call-ins and adjusts staffing accordingly
- Communicates any observed issues with Unit Managers if it appears office staff will have difficulty filling unfilled shifts
The ideal candidate has strong critical thinking skills, the ability to handle multiple tasks at once, prioritize work, and manage interruptions easily. To be successful in this role, strong customer service skills, willingness to work, adaptability and an eagerness to learn are required. This position will require you to work autonomously as well as with a team.
