A lawyer’s real‑world needs, concerns, and frame of reference will strongly influence the effectiveness of any training or communication. A consultative approach implies personalization: whether one-on-one or in a group, training tailored to fit the target audience’s specific business use cases, problems, or wishes. It requires empathetic, concrete understanding of how they do what they do, so you can communicate in terms they will not only understand, but also engage with.

As a Senior Technology Trainer, you will provide a variety of professional, high-level technology training services to the lawyers and staff of the firm through in person and remote training delivery. You will identify training service requirements through training needs analysis, training requests, technology initiatives, general analysis, outreach, feedback, and service desk reports.

You will take action to meet training demand by working with the training and Technology teams to develop and implement effective training programs using a variety of different educational skills, tools, mediums and software. Other key responsibilities include:

• Providing assistance and training to end users for firm-approved applications in a variety of different methods (e.g., classroom, one-on-one, video, online eLearning systems and remote virtual learning)
• Working with business services team members in the office and across other departments to identify training needs, creating classes designed to promote learning and the most effective use of technology
• Conducting training needs analysis using a variety of standard techniques and supporting the development of innovative programs to meet those needs and promote the use of technology to improve individual or team performance
• Building a comprehensive knowledge of the workflow, applications, and practices of lawyers and other employees to support the delivery of consultative training
• Evaluating and customizing training in order to meet the specific needs for a new hire, along with onboarding training, technology rollout training, or ongoing education initiatives

We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Possess the knowledge and understanding of the work practices and workflow of lawyers and other employees such as it pertains to training for the adoption of technology
• Are flexible in approach and delivery, with the ability to translate business training requirements into successful training implementations with demonstrable and measurable results
• Have the ability to create and deliver training courses that incorporate experiential learning activities to meet the needs and culture of the audience (generic and customized)
• Have experience with a range of learning development and support tools
  
  E.g. Camtasia, Storyline, Snagit, SharePoint Online or video tools

And have:

• A Degree level of education ; A Bachelor’s degree in Digital Education, Information Systems, Teaching, or a related learning or technology field is preferred
• A minimum of five (5) or more years of related job experience considered in lieu of a degree
• A minimum of five (5) years of software training experience
• A Microsoft Certified Trainer certification or an equivalent adult learning and development certification is preferred.
  
  E.g. Certified Professional in Learning and Performance
• Experience of working within the legal, professional services, or financial sectors would be advantageous

Occasional travel to deliver in-person training is required.
