Database &A; LUW

Experience:

Ideally 5+ years, but 23 years acceptable if strong technical skills.

• Support application teams (object creation, query assistance, performance tuning).
• Level 1 support for DB performance and cleanup.
• Collaborate with senior DBA for escalations.
• DB2 LUW (not ZOS/mainframe).
• Database size: up to 5 TB; complexity due to multiple teams sharing schemas.
• Other DB platforms in use:
  Oracle, Postgres, Couchbase, Snowflake, Redshift.
• DBA team of 10; 2 dedicated to DB2, plus one floating resource.
• Standard 40-hour week.
• Occasional weekend work for planned releases (comp time provided).
• Round 1:
  Hiring Manager + 2 DBAs (Teams interview).
• Round 2:
  Deep technical discussion with senior DBA (Teams interview).

• Preferred:
  Nearshore (Mexico, LATAM) for time zone alignment (±1 hour from Kansas City, USA).
• Remote: 100% remote acceptable.
• English Proficiency:
  High level required (written and oral) past issues with miscommunication led to termination.

• DB2 expected to remain for at least 5 years (sunset plan not yet started).
• Opportunity for cross-training on other DB platforms for long-term engagement.

• Previous model:
  Vendor provides hardware; ACI provides VM access.
• Candidate will undergo background checks due to financial industry compliance.

• Start Date:
  
  ASAP, but realistically January 2026 due to holidays.
• Hiring Manager will provide interview availability (likely Mondays and Fridays in December).
• GDH will block times and share with candidates to streamline scheduling.
