Associate Material Controller – Advanced Manufacturing (Spartanburg, SC)
Base pay range: $61,700.00 – $80,925.00 per year.
As an Associate Material Controller at Jacobs, you will manage material transactions for major capital equipment and purchased materials. You work under close supervision and follow established policies, procedures, systems, and tools to maintain accurate material control records and support project procurement.
What You’ll Do- Develop an understanding of material control processes, procurement principles, project delivery processes, and supplier relationship expectations.
- Utilize established policies, procedures, systems, and tools.
- Review shipment release requests and ensure authorizations comply with purchase orders and Material Control Execution Plans.
- Advise stakeholders on creating and initiating shipment releases.
- Administer Material Receiving Reports (MRRs), Material Issue Requests (MIRs), and Over/Under/ Damaged (OS&D) Reports.
- Maintain a register of materials requiring preservation activities.
- Evaluate material control issues and apply remedies to resolve them.
- Maintain material control documentation in a repository.
- Identify and advise on material control related risks.
- Participate in OS&D resolution coordination.
- Coordinate with project or departmental personnel for material control activities.
- Work under close supervision; no direct reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, construction, supply chain, operations management, or equivalent project experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in capital equipment material control preferred.
- Experience in Advanced Manufacturing or related industry projects ideal.
- Intermediate or advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency with MS Office tools.
- 2+ years of experience using Materials Management software or Enterprise Purchasing Systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Net Suite, Smart Materials).
- Expressed interest in a career in Construction Management or Procurement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Drive to solve complex and challenging problems.
- Ability to work on‑site in Spartanburg, SC.
