Dairy Plant Worker

Responsibilities

• Scrub pipe fittings and machines with chemical solutions and brushes
• Dismantle and reassemble machines
• Attach pipes and fittings to machines using wrenches
• Open containers and bags to dump carious ingredients into machine hoppers
• Start and stop machines and equipment
• Load cartons into machines
• Make minor adjustments to machines as needed to maintain operations
• Climb, stoop, crawl, twist, turn, and move objects above and below the head
• Walk continuously during shifts

• Ability to work well with others
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work in a safe and clean area
• Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner
• Ability to perform basic mathematics
• Ability to fill out daily written reports

• Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions

The employee may be required to load and move stacks of dairy products weighing approximately 240 pounds or ice cream racks weighing 1,000 pounds during the shift for staging and loading of trailers. May be required to stack and unstack items weighing 50 pounds from a height of approximately seven feet to the ground and back continually for the duration of the shift.

Must be able to work in both very hot (more than 100°F) and very cold (less than 20°F below zero) as well as in a very wet and humid environment for extended periods of time.
