Shift: 7 PM – 5:30 AM
Pay: $20–$22 per hour plus Production Incentive Bonus

AboutThe Role
As a Machine Operator – Slitter at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in setting up and operating robotic and automated equipment to form or cut steel to precise specifications. This role is ideal for someone who is detail‑oriented, mechanically skilled, and thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do- Observe all safety and LOTO rules to operate equipment efficiently and effectively.
- Set up and calibrate equipment to meet production requirements.
- Inspect materials for quality issues before, during, and after production.
- Record and report deficiencies in quality to supervisors or the quality department.
- Maintain equipment tooling and necessary tools to ensure job completion.
- Diagnose equipment and quality problems while minimizing scrap and delays.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to maintain clean and safe work areas.
- Complete production, changeover, and scrap reports accurately and on time.
- Assist maintenance teams in equipment repairs and preventive maintenance.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and maintain production records; proficiency with measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and calipers; and capable of operating forklifts, cranes, and other required equipment.
- Detail‑oriented, ability to work independently, strong problem‑solving skills.
- Commitment to lead and promote safe work practices per regulatory and company policy.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, bend, stoop, climb, push, and pull.
- Ability to stand for 10–12 hours and maintain good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Ability to perform work in a plant/manufacturing environment.
- Use of abdominal and lower back muscles for support over extended periods without fatigue.
- Other physical requirements as necessary for the role.
