Summary:
DSJ Global, a leading E2E supply chain and manufacturing recruitment firm, is partnered with a notable food/beverage manufacturing organization that is looking to add a Senior Process Engineer to their team in Kansas City, MO.
Role Overview:
The Senior Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting and optimizing the technical aspects of manufacturing across multiple production facilities in a growing mid‑sized food manufacturing company. This role will focus on continuous improvement, automation, process engineering, maintenance, and ensuring operational excellence to drive efficiency, quality, and safety. The Senior Process Engineer will lead cross‑functional teams and collaborate with plant leadership to implement best practices, enhance productivity, and support the company’s strategic growth objectives.
As the Senior Process Engineer you will:
- Develop and execute a technical strategy aligned with company growth plans, focusing on automation, innovation, and operational improvements.
- Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiencies, reduce waste, and optimize production processes while maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement methodologies across all manufacturing facilities to enhance operational performance.
- Collaborate with plant managers to achieve technical KPIs, building consistency in performance across all locations.
- Evaluate and implement new technologies and automation solutions to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance food safety.
- Provide guidance on equipment selection, process enhancements, and facility layout to support business expansion and cost reduction initiatives.
- Provide guidance on industry best practices for preventive maintenance, predictive analytics, and reliability engineering.
- Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to assess manufacturing capabilities for new product introductions and scale‑up processes.
- Ensure all technical operations comply with food safety regulations (FDA, USDA, SQF, GMPs, HACCP) and industry standards.
- Partner with the Quality Assurance team to improve process controls and implement corrective actions when needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Food Science) or a related field;
Master’s degree preferred. - 5+ years of experience in technical leadership roles within food manufacturing, with multisite responsibility preferred.
- Expertise in food processing equipment, automation, maintenance programs, and process engineering.
- Strong track record of leading capital projects and continuous improvement initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
