Overview
Kanbe’s Markets is a quickly growing 501(c)3 creating fresh food access and mitigating food waste in Kansas City. In just nine years, Kanbe’s has rescued and redirected millions of pounds of food, reinvested over $260,000 back into the local community, and today, serves approximately 250,000 Kansas Citians with fresh food access in communities deemed “low-access” by the USDA.
Corporate partnership plays a unique and vital role in the expansion of Kanbe’s mission, operating at the intersection between grants, sponsorship, individual fundraising objectives, and volunteerism. As Kanbe’s continues to grow its operational efforts and impact, the Development team is seeking a motivated and energetic individual to lead its corporate development efforts, attaining a $500,000 annual fundraising target in 2026.
ThePosition Overview
As Corporate Impact Manager, you will be responsible for leading and deepening relationships with existing corporate partners; expanding our corporate prospect list; creating a clear channel for engaging with corporate volunteers; managing the design and utilization of corporate communication materials; and managing all corporate‑facing event strategy execution and securing sponsor ships from corporate partners for these events.
This role is based in Kansas City, MO and is part of the Kanbe’s Development team, reporting to the Director of Strategic Development.
CoreDuties & Responsibilities
- Lead and deepen relationships with existing corporate partners.
- Expand our corporate prospect list and design a systematic approach to personalize outreach to new contacts.
- Create a clear channel for recruiting and engaging with corporate volunteers.
- Manage the design and implementation of strategic corporate communication materials.
- Lead all corporate‑facing event strategy execution and secure sponsor ships from corporate partners for fundraising events.
- 1+ years of experience in a process‑driven, revenue‑earning role (Fundraising, Sales, and/or Business Development).
- Understands the fundamentals of running a successful relationship pipeline.
- Experience managing CRM systems (such as Hub Spot).
- Passion for creating and curating meaningful engagements and experiences for corporate audiences.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Enjoys a fast‑paced workplace and managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- An enthusiasm to dive into existing processes and take responsibility for making them better.
- A grasp of how to merge strategic vision with hands‑on execution.
- Willingness to go above and beyond for building relationships and cultivating connections.
- Familiarity with the produce industry or food distribution.
- Desire to engage with the Kansas City community and introduce a network to a growing, mission‑driven organization in the food access space.
Salary: $60,000–$65,000, commensurate with experience.

Full‑time (40 hours per week) position with health, vision, and dental insurance and retirement plan with matching.

Up to 176 hours of paid time off annually, available after 90 days of continuous employment.
