Pastoral Team Position
HOPE FELLOWSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH
Kansas City, MO
We are prayerfully seeking a co‑vocational/part‑time pastor(s), called by God to provide spiritual leadership in accordance with our core values to fulfill our mission statement:
To help people learn to know, love, serve, and share Jesus Christ while being a family beyond the family.
- Leading: providing spiritual oversight and discipleship while planning, directing, and supporting various church ministries in collaboration with other church leaders.
- Communicating: teaching and preaching the Holy Bible; preparing and delivering sermons and lessons; promoting the church’s vision, mission, and evangelistic outreach.
- Ministering: providing pastoral care; developing relationships with the congregation; shepherding;
Biblical counseling; performing weddings and funerals; visiting the hospitalized, sick, and shut‑ins. - Administering: overseeing the daily operations of the church, its staff, and volunteers in partnership with the Deacons and the Advisory Board.
- A godly, committed servant‑leader who enjoys a close personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
- A mature Christian living an exemplary life, modeling the call, character, and competencies as an elder.
- A person of integrity, humility, peace, gentleness, patience, kindness, self‑control, and perseverance; highly motivated and financially responsible.
- Loves God and people; slow to anger; treats others respectfully; listens well; encourages and mentors.
- Supports and engages with the North American Baptist Conference and Southwestern Association.
- Degree in Biblical/Pastoral studies from an accredited Bible College or University.
- Meets all Scriptural requirements of an elder as identified in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5.
- Intentionally pursues and models ongoing personal spiritual development.
- Agrees with and adheres to the HFC Statement of Beliefs, NAB Pastoral Code of Ethics, NAB Affi rmation of Marriage, and the HFC Membership Covenant.
- Finalists must agree to a background and credit check.
