Nurse Extern Student Nurse

Overview

Nurse Extern (RN nursing student) position with bonus opportunity. This PRN, flexible role supports students' school schedule. Earn bonus and potential RN employment upon graduation.

• Perform delegated basic patient care services related to nursing functions and activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Assist nursing staff in providing patient care and maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
• Participate in hands-on clinical experiences across settings; gain exposure during final years of nursing program.

• Nurse Extern Bonus Program with a $10,000 scholarship paid in $2,500 increments over six-month periods.
• First payment after 6 months of employment with us.

• Actively enrolled in an accredited RN nursing program (ADN or BSN); must have completed Nursing Fundamentals to apply, or may apply before completion but start date must be after fundamentals.
• Must be currently enrolled in an RN nursing program.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Commitment to work a minimum of ~250 hours every 6 months (roughly 20-12 hour shifts); paid shadow shifts available.
• Limited spots available (first 10 spots).
• Commitment to work for HCA Hospitals in Kansas City post-graduation; guided interview as graduation approaches.
• Students already participating in other Scholarship/Loan Forgiveness programs are not eligible for additional HCA scholarships.
