American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a 13-week Cardiac Telemetry position requiring prior tele/PCU/ICU experience and advanced cardiac care skills.

• Cardiac Telemetry unit (4 North) with 29 beds and a 1:4 patient ratio
• Support staff includes Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and PCTs
• Equipment used includes Alaris IV pumps, SCD machines, Hill-Rom beds, Dinamap monitors, Welch Allyn vital machines, wound vacs, temporary pacemakers, telemetry monitors, EKG machines, bladder scanners, Dopplers, and Imobile communication devices
• Documentation performed in Meditech
• Night shift schedule from 7p-7a
• Full-time schedule required, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period
• Floating required to other units based on demonstrated competency

• Active RN license (Missouri or Compact) required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in Cardiac Telemetry, PCU, or ICU required
• Must be able to read and interpret EKGs and telemetry strips
• Experience with post cardiac procedural care including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, post-op day 1 open heart, and permanent pacemaker placements required
• Must be able to administer and titrate IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone
• Experience with IV insertions, NGT placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemakers, and Foley insertions
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• Two professional references required for Missouri placements
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• Provide direct patient care to cardiac telemetry patients, including monitoring, medication administration, and procedural support
• Deliver patient-centered care aligned with facility experience goals, including bedside shift reporting and proactive communication
• Required to wear navy blue scrubs, with black scrub pants permitted if paired with a navy top
• Fast-paced unit with a supportive, family-like team culture
• Many travelers have transitioned into permanent staff positions on this unit
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• No local candidates will be considered
