American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring 2 years of recent telemetry experience and a MO or compact RN license.

• PCU/Stepdown/IMC/DOU unit caring for telemetry, cardiac, neuro stepdown, and ER holding patients
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• 13-week assignment length
• Weekend requirement of 8 shifts per 6-week schedule, combination of Friday/Saturday/Sunday
• Charge RN assignments and holiday shifts as needed per unit
• Regular floating required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system experience required

• Active RN license
  - Missouri and Kansas or compact license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience required, including a full year of in-specialty experience within the past 12 months with no employment gaps greater than 90 days
• Charge RN and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and Rapid Response Team utilization
• Experience with IV therapy including central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Experience managing cardiac drips, heparin protocols, PCA, and procedural sedation
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with CVA, renal failure/hemodialysis management, IV insulin protocols, and total joint replacement care
• Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE
• 2 professional references required, one from a supervisor and one from a charge RN, both from within the past year

• Provide comprehensive care to a diverse patient population including cardiac, telemetry, neuro stepdown, and post-surgical patients
• Manage patients with complex needs including post cardiac cath/surgery, post MI, and renal failure
• Participate in holiday coverage and charge RN duties as assigned by the unit
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days
• Returning staff must have a 3-month break in service after 18 months of employment; permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• No travel partners accepted
