Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager works closely with the Store Manager to support all aspects of store operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring a positive customer experience, efficient inventory management, and leading a well-trained team. The role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining store standards, building a positive work culture, and supporting change‑management efforts within the retail organization.
Duties / Responsibilities- Ensure a welcoming environment by greeting customers and maintaining store appearance, displays, and signage.
- Train, coach, and develop team members to provide exceptional customer service and engagement.
- Oversee inventory flow, including markdowns, ticketing, and clearance management, while maintaining accurate pricing and organized stockrooms.
- Ensure timely removal of damaged or expired items and set daily and weekly freight goals to support efficient operations.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to achieve sales targets; collaborate with the store manager to create and execute marketing and promotional campaigns.
- Maintain a clean and organized store environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist Store Manager with daily operations and employee supervision.
- Maintain proper inventory controls and facilitate inventory transactions, ensuring compliance with shrink‑control standards.
- Direct and supervise employees engaged in sales, inventory‑taking, cash‑reconciliation, or customer services.
- Ensure staff adherence to all Citi Trends, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Competent in basic mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in retail management or a related field.
- 2‑4 years of retail experience as an Assistant Manager; 3‑5 years of overall retail experience.
- Squat, kneel, and stoop frequently to continuously.
- Stand, bend, and walk frequently to continuously.
- Twist occasionally to frequently.
- Reach above shoulder occasionally to frequently.
- Lift or carry occasionally to frequently.
- Push or pull occasionally to frequently.
- Use of hands (manual dexterity, grasping) frequently to continuously.
