Position Objective:
To produce, execute, and deliver outstanding prepared foods in freshness, taste, quality, and presentation in a timely and efficient manner. Assist in all aspects of the deli in a way that results in a Deli team that delivers the product and service Cosentino’s customers have come to expect.

Reporting Structure:
This position formally reports to the Deli Manager. Status:
Non‑exempt.

• Food handling permit within 14 days of employment.
• Completion of ongoing training per Cosentino’s Learning Plan.
• Minimum 1 year of deli/bakery/catering/banquet experience.
• Minimum 6 months of deli production facility experience.
• Understanding of federal, state, and local food sanitation guidelines.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Develop daily, weekly, and seasonal menu items with department manager.
• Apply portion control in deli production and service.
• Ensure all foods prepared per safety, health, and sanitation guidelines.
• Enforce strict quality control measures in all deli areas.
• Supervise kitchen team members effectively and respectfully.
• Promote positive team atmosphere and teamwork.
• Train, direct, and manage part‑time cooks.
• Communicate resources needed for deli department.
• Practice effective inventory management and count merchandise.
• Monitor product rotation procedures.
• Answer customer questions accurately and courteously.
• Meet productivity standards.
• Promote department sales with product suggestions and samples.
• Resolve customer complaints professionally.
• Implement Cosentino’s Customer Service Standards.
• Operate, clean, and maintain all equipment safely and completely.
• Follow and maintain all Deli Programs, recipes, and standards.
• Demonstrate basic math and reading skills.

• Prepare, package, and label products for sales to customers.
• Ensure all coolers, freezers, and prep areas are clean and pre‑set for deliveries.
• Unload incoming shipments and stock without damaging merchandise.
• Assist additional tasks identified by management and other departments.

• Reach overhead up to 74 inches, twist at waist, lift objects up to 20 lbs.
• Push/pull grocery items up to 50 lbs.
• Stand and walk long periods on tile, asphalt, concrete.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Bend and squat to floor level.
• Work in colder conditions of grocery coolers/freezers.
• Climb a ladder up to 5 ft.
