What You Will DoThe Specialty Account Manager – Nephrology (NSAM) represents Amgen products to physicians and healthcare professionals, establishes biotech/infusion product sales, and performs total territory account management. The NSAM provides account management support for Nephrology accounts within a specific geography.
Responsibilities- Develop a comprehensive territory business plan to exceed annual sales goals.
- Promote Amgen products within approved labeling consistently, fairly, and ethically.
- Build strong customer relationships by understanding and communicating customer needs.
- Serve as a trusted consultant on payer policies, reimbursement regulations, and national guidelines.
- Consistently meet or exceed corporate sales goals.
- Communicate territory activity accurately and timely as directed by management.
- Provide feedback to internal teams on changing environment and results.
- Adhere to Amgen compliance policies, including the PhRMA Code.
- Complete all Amgen training classes.
- Manage promotions and operational budgets effectively.
- Collaborate across all divisions within the GBU to achieve business objectives.
- Attend medical congresses and society meetings as needed.
Doctorate degree & 2 years of collective account management experience, or
Masters degree & 6 years of collective account management experience, or
Bachelors degree & 8 years of collective account management experience, or
Associate degree & 10 years of collective account management experience.
- Minimum 2 years sales experience in Nephrology therapeutic area.
- Buy and bill experience preferred.
- Biologic/biotech sales and reimbursement experience preferred.
- Experience working with institutions and integrated delivery networks preferred.
- Team environment experience partnering with Commercial Operations functions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Professional, proactive demeanor.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Requires approximately 20‑30% travel, including overnight and weekend commitments.
