Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
Specialty Equipment (Food Technician) at Walmart manages routine maintenance to uphold safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, or fixtures. Under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, technicians follow established maintenance schedules, perform inspections, cleaning, and repairs to facilities and food equipment.

Responsibilities- Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple crafts (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, and food equipment) with hand tools and power tools.
- Use the work order management system to receive and document reactive repair work orders and support Stores and store associates.
- Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls and inspections; diagnose issues by inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures.
- Complete required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
Equipment Serviced
- Food Equipment:
Combi ovens, deli slicers, auto meat cutters, fryers, hot cases, ice makers, pizza ovens, rotisserie ovens, thermoglazers, donut cases, four bowl warmers, bakery ovens, bread slicers, tortilla makers. - Grease and Oil Systems:
Oil/water separators, used cooking oil tanks.

- 18 years or older
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Can lift up to 50 lbs. and move comfortably on ladders; able to work at heights frequently
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods; able to work in various temperatures
- Must maintain an excellent driving record
- Vocational or Technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience, in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade

Store Associates are well-trained in equipment care and cleaning, reducing misuse and damage. - Documentation:
Accurate and timely completion of work orders and maintenance logs. - Customer Satisfaction:
High levels of service and operational efficiency in Walmart stores. - Food Safety:
Minimize cross-contamination risks in food production areas.
- Salary range: $45,760 – $83,200
- Sign-on bonus: $2,000 (for select locations)
- Compensation packages based on candidate-specific factors; additional bonuses disclosed during interview
