Job PurposeImmediate full-time position for experienced Fiber Splicing Technician. Candidate will be responsible for terminating, splicing, documenting and testing of all fiber optic lines within the customer’s network. Five years’ experience and experience with EXFO fiber equipment preferred. Must be willing to travel. Current fiber optic certifications preferred.

- Perform fiber tests with OTDRs, light source and meters
- Terminate, splice, bond/ground and test fiber optic equipment to standards
- Perform installation of fiber optic equipment and patch panels
- Working knowledge of fiber optics
- Basic knowledge of networking
- Proficient in the operation of all related fiber tools and equipment
- Terminate, splice and install a variety of fiber optic connectors and enclosures
- Ability to troubleshoot damaged fiber effectively and efficiently
- Learn and adhere to all safety standards
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints, designs and work scopes
- 5 years previous experience
- Fusion splicer, mechanical splicer, OTDR, power meters, traffic identifiers, digital multi-meters, cleavers, strippers, buffer tube splitters, cable ring tools, hand tools, toners, duct rodders, ladders, bucket trucks, etc. is preferred.
- Associates or Technical Degree preferred
- CWDM and DWDM experience preferred
- Experience in carrier technologies a plus
- Positive attitude
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal
- Must be highly organized
- Must display strong work ethic, punctuality and attendance
