The Maintenance Worker will perform routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures in building. Assists in various maintenance and warehouse department functions and tasks and assists with the performance of various duties. Performs a variety of skilled duties in one or more of the building trades, such as painting, carpentry, minor electrical, or other recognized crafts for the purpose of maintaining, repairing the building.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform routine, repetitive daily inspection and maintenance necessary to building exterior/interior.
- Assist and perform semiskilled tasks of a general nature in connection with maintenance, repair and construction tasks in the upkeep of the Distribution Center building.
- Assist and perform installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in basic building maintenance trades (carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet, and mechanics).
- Assist and perform functions in the construction, installation and maintenance of roofs, furniture, fences, cabinets, shelving, marker boards/chalkboards, tack boards and other structures.
- Inspect properties and communicate with management regarding grounds keeping and general maintenance.
- Prepare and paint walls and woodwork or perform other refinishing tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules and MSDS sheets.
- May perform weekly safety checks to ensure a safe and clean environment for patrons and to eliminate hazards.
- Occasional after hours work is necessary.
- May utilize a scissor lift or operate a boom for stage matting or special deliveries for entertainment and production needs.
- One year experience as a semi-skilled worker in one or more basic building maintenance trades and/or one year experience in a warehouse distribution operation.
- Knowledge of manual and electrical hand tools.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including off-shift hours and weekend assignments.
- Must be able to operate a forklift, light truck and other related motorized equipment.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of related employment in the building maintenance
- Must be able to lift and stack objects up to 50 pounds; frequently exert 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, and pull objects.
- Frequent standing and walking, with potential for climbing ladders and staircases.
- Indoor/outdoor work with exposure to extreme weather; may involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, twisting, reaching, and bending at the waist.
- Must perceive sound, have good vision, depth perception, and manual dexterity for handling materials.
