THE DEPARTMENT
Annually, over 1.5 million pieces of new merchandise (over $500 million retail) is processed by the Distribution Center where it is received, checked for quality assurance, picked, billed and shipped to the stores on a daily basis. Distribution also processes over 150,000 pieces (over $40 million retail) of recalled merchandise that is returned to the manufacturing vendor or returned to the vault for replenishment.
The Distribution department is located in a secluded and extremely high-security, metal-free area, and associates must pass through a metal detector when entering or leaving the department.
The Operations Associate processes replenishment orders representing daily sales activity at all stores, via the creation of pick tickets, transfers and shipping manifests. The incumbent also re-stocks and maintains the merchandise vault inventory. Typical relationships include working with Merchandise staff and Inventory Control department to solve shipment and inventory problems.
PRINCIPALACCOUNTABILITIES
- Pick and consolidate daily replenishment orders for all stores and audit shipping manifest documentation.
- Receive and audit store to warehouse transfers, repairs and advertising merchandise to re‑stock primary bins.
- Audit and verify the accuracy of merchandise processed in the Quality Assurance department.
- Create putaway documents and physically re‑stock merchandise vault.
- Maintain a high degree of inventory integrity by performing cycle count and semi‑annual inventories.
- Perform various duties for other work groups in the Distribution Center as needed to support a dynamic and fluid team that contributes to the company mission and strategies.
The incumbent does not have any direct reports.
QUALIFICATIONS- High school diploma.
- One to three years jewelry merchandise or distribution experience preferred.
- Basic PC and clerical skills, and strong communication and organizational skills required.
- Ability to be very accurate and detail-oriented and to meet deadlines required.
- Regular, predictable onsite attendance is required to perform essential functions involving interactive behaviors with co‑workers and managers, operation or manipulation of equipment and/or materials located only on site, and direct interaction with internal and/or external customers.
