Welding Instructor

Overview

Position Title: Instructor of Welding Technology
Institution: Cloud County Community College
Contract: Professional Employee (Faculty), 9 month academic year

• Provide hands‑on instruction in the safe and professional operation of welding equipment.
• Manage students in a field‑training environment and coordinate laboratory resources.
• Plan and prepare relevant, practical class lessons and monitor student performance.
• Maintain accurate student registration, attendance, and assessment records.
• Develop and teach courses within the Welding Curriculum, including online/distance formats.
• Collaborate with the division and department on assessment, technical certificates, program development, and budget preparation.
• Prepare syllabi following state of Kansas formats and submit to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
• Incorporate instructional technology and promote promotional materials for the welding program.
• Teach evening and flexible‑format classes as needed across multiple campuses, outreach sites, and online platforms.
• Support industry relationships, program advancement, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
• Attend workshops, seminars, and maintain a valid driver’s license.

• Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of welding experience; AWS certification preferred.
• Teaching experience at the college/technical school level.
• Ability to develop and deliver distance learning courses.
• Strong instructional technology skills.
• Excellent communication and classroom management abilities.
