Position Overview
USD 481 Rural Vista is seeking a secondary science teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year in White City, Kansas. The position primarily teaches 8th‑grade science, including Earth science, biology, chemistry, and an upper‑level science elective. Classes are small, with most having fewer than 15 students.
CompensationBase salary: $41,200. New hires may choose a 13‑payment schedule, receiving the first paycheck on August 15.

- 12 days of sick or personal leave annually, plus 3 additional professional development days of your choice
Rural Vista USD 481 comprises two K‑12 schools:
Hope Schools and White City Schools. The district offers a 10:1 student‑to‑teacher ratio and a two‑year in‑house mentoring program for new teachers. The high schools co‑operate as the Rural Vista Heat for athletics and activities.
Sports co‑op includes volleyball, football, basketball, track, and Scholars Bowl. The co‑op has produced multiple state‑tournament berths.
