Cardinal Glass Industries is searching for an Engineering Manager for our Spring Hill, KS plant.

In a float glass manufacturing plant that runs 24/7, the Engineering Manager organizes and directs the engineering department. The department designs, installs, and provides support to the plant’s facilities, equipment, production processes, and computer network. In collaboration with other department managers, the engineering manager prioritizes improvement projects, repairs, and preventive maintenance, and provides the resources, help, and motivation the department staff needs to keep the plant up and running.

First review of candidates will begin on August 25th, 2025. Position will remain open until filled.

Education/knowledge requirements

• P.E. license will be viewed as a PLUS
• Minimum five years related experience
• Supervisory/leadership experience is preferred

Skills needed

• Organizing and tracking data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions that define problems.
• Reading, analyzing, and interpreting complex engineering documents and OSHA regulations.
• Troubleshooting
• Coaching skills
• Project Management
• MS Office applications:
  Word, Excel, Access, Power Point

Job Responsibilities

• Allocate resources including people to meet priorities
• Balance daily workload with ongoing projects
• Oversee engineering, maintenance, and networking projects, including planning, budgeting, reporting, analysis, and schedules
• Select correct design concepts and technology for processes and equipment
• Prepare proposals for capital expenditures
• Be involved in selection, installation, set-up, and operation of plant equipment
• Develop expectations for maintenance technicians and engineers and provide regular feedback regarding performance
• Develop future leaders within the department and provide leadership training and opportunities to demonstrate leadership skills
