A well-established community pharmacy in Kansas is seeking a dedicated full-time Pharmacist-In-Charge (PIC) to lead daily operations and ensure exceptional patient care. This role provides a unique opportunity to oversee a dynamic team, manage 340B pharmacy services, and maintain high compliance and quality standards within a growing retail environment.
Location: Confidential town in Kansas (relocation assistance may be available)
Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Schedule:
- Monday Friday
- 9:00 AM 5:30 PM
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer
Travel: No routine travel required
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the Pharmacist-In-Charge of record, managing all daily pharmacy operations.
- Supervise pharmacists, PRN/contract staff, technicians, and support personnel.
- Review and verify prescriptions, dispense medications, and provide patient counseling services.
- Ensure compliance with Kansas Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, controlled-substance regulations, HIPAA, and other legal requirements.
- Oversee 340B program operations including compliance, inventory control, pricing, and reimbursement processes.
- Manage inventory, controlled-substance records, wholesalers, PBM/PSAO relations, and split-billing workflows.
- Maintain pharmacy policies, quality standards, and audit readiness.
Qualifications & Desired
Experience:
- PharmD or Bachelor of Pharmacy from an ACPE-accredited school.
- Eligibility to serve as PIC in Kansas.
- 12 years of retail/community pharmacy experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory or PIC experience advantageous but not required.
- Experience with 340B program preferred.
- Oklahoma license or registration a plus for cross-border dispensing.
- BLS/AED certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.
Additional Notes:
Candidates interested in exploring the role before committing may cover PRN shifts through the end of the year. The pharmacy fills approximately 100150 prescriptions daily and uses Liberty pharmacy software.
