About R-Tech Tool & Manufacturing

R-Tech Tool & Manufacturing is a family-owned, precision machining and fabrication company located in the heart of the U.S. For more than 20 years, we’ve partnered with industries like aerospace, heavy equipment, energy, and construction to deliver high-quality parts that meet the toughest standards. Our team is known for trust, respect, and craftsmanship — backed by state-of-the-art equipment including 5-axis Mazak and Mori Seiki machines, robotic welding systems, and advanced CMM inspection.

About Our Machining Team

Our machinists are the backbone of R-Tech. From single-piece prototypes to high-volume production runs, the machining team thrives on solving complex challenges, pushing technology, and maintaining world-class precision. You’ll work with skilled peers who value quality, safety, and teamwork — and who take pride in machining parts that truly make an impact.

Your Role as a CNC Machinist

As a CNC Machinist at R-Tech, you’ll transform raw material into precision components that keep industries moving. You’ll set up and operate CNC mills and lathes, perform inspections, and solve machining challenges to ensure every part meets exact specifications. Whether you’re starting as an operator or stepping into senior-level responsibilities, you’ll play a direct role in delivering the accuracy and reliability our customers demand.

What You’ll Do
  • Safely set up and operate CNC 3-axis and 5-axis mills, and/or 2-axis and multi-axis lathes.

  • Install fixtures, load tools, set offsets, and verify programs for production runs.

  • Inspect first-run and in-process parts using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T symbols, and engineering specifications.

  • Make minor program edits at the control (G-code, M-code) to correct dimensional issues.

  • Perform preventative maintenance, monitor tool life, and report equipment concerns.

  • Track run times, tooling usage, and inspections in the MRP system.

  • Suggest process improvements to reduce setup time and improve efficiency.

  • At senior levels: mentor junior machinists and assist with complex setups/programming.

What You’ll Need

Required:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • 2+ years of CNC machining experience or related technical training.

  • Proficiency in shop math, fractions/decimals, and trigonometry.

  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and tolerances.

  • Skilled with measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges).

  • Comfort working 10-hour shifts, standing for long periods, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and safety practices.

Preferred:

  • A.A.S. in Precision Machining, CNC & Automation, or equivalent.

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience with independent setup skills.

  • Experience with multi-axis CNC machines and complex part setups.

  • CAM software exposure (Mastercam, Fusion 360, Solid

    CAM).

  • Familiarity with aerospace alloys (titanium, Inconel), stainless steels, and plastics.

  • Experience with probing, in-process inspection, or advanced quality systems.

What We Offer You
  • Competitive hourly pay ($20–$30/hr, based on experience).

  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance.

  • 401(k) with company match.

  • Paid time off and holiday pay.

  • Referral bonus program.

  • Employee assistance program.

  • A supportive, family-owned culture where safety, respect, and teamwork matter.

  • Opportunities to grow — from operator to senior machinist, programmer, or leadership.
