Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Description
SUMMARY:The Instrument & Electrical Technician will be required to work in a team environment to accomplish the maintenance objectives identified by the Maintenance Superintendent. They are responsible for the safe and proper installation maintenance and repair of plant instrumentation and electrical equipment. Duties include responding to plant needs during scheduled on-call, maintaining adequate documentation of equipment data files, and contributing to overall plant wellbeing.
RESPONSIBILITIES:include the following. Other duties may be assigned at management’s discretion.
- Follow all established safety procedures for safe maintenance of all plant equipment.
- Ensure proper record keeping of calibrations in equipment data files.
- Perform calibrations and repair of PH sensors, Pressure, Temperature, and Flow transmitters.
- Maintain plant AC motors and motor control.
- Maintain plant Allen Bradley DCS system, PLC, and supporting instrumentation.
- Must be able to diagnose and repair electrical power and control systems.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean and free of clutter after each job or task.
- Write work orders and ensure all maintenance work is done by established safety rules.
- Work with operations and supervisors to solve plant problems.
- Understand and support QSH&E goals and objectives, and ongoing improvement plans and activities.
REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty/function satisfactorily. - High School diploma or GED required. BS, associate or Technical School degree in a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in petrochemical or chemical industries preferred
- Ability to read and write effective reports and business correspondence using standard Microsoft Office products
- Oral presentation skills must be effective with all levels of management
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Lift 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to move from place to place in all areas of facility. Must be able to climb ladders or platforms and enter confined spaces. Must be able to wear all safety equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:Work environment varies from an office, plant production areas and outside climate conditions based on the situation. Noise level varies upon which area of production employee is working in.
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: Typical work schedule will be 4 ten-hour days with a 4 day weekend every other week. Candidate must be available and flexible to work overtime and to cover sickness and vacations of other technicians. Occasional changes in schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
