Paint Prep Technician (Manufacturing)

Responsibilities include:

• The Paint Technician is responsible for preparing and painting transformer units.
• Compliance with all safety requirements, product quality standards and company policies are essential functions of this role.
• Review checklist and follow work order instructions to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Assess units prior to painting and check for issues (defects, leaks, etc.), escalating defect issues to lead or supervisor if discovered.
• Mix paint and ensure the viscosity is consistent with specifications.
• Replace paint in pots/drums as needed.
• Ensure paint guns are all in working order and spray pattern consistency is correct prior to painting the equipment.
• Clean unit off accordingly by air or tack cloth if needed.
• Apply primer and paint as required to comply with quality expectations.
• After primer and paint is complete, look over unit to ensure quality expectations are met.
• If unit is disassembled, spray unit parts as required.
• Once unit is complete, move to final assembly.
• Follow all safety protocols which includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), respirator, glove, safety glasses, etc.
• Maintain a safe, clean and orderly workstation and area.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
