Minimum QualificationsThe Hawaiʻi State Department of Education requires a Bachelor’s Degree for all teaching positions. Unless the position is a designated Career and Technology Education (CTE) role, the minimum qualification is a Bachelor’s Degree.
If you are hired without completing a Teacher’s Education Program, you have a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaiʻi teaching license. You must enroll in a program and demonstrate active pursuit toward meeting Hawaiʻi licensing requirements each year of employment. Upon hire you will need to have a valid Hawaiʻi teaching license or an Emergency Hire Permit. You may apply for your Hawaiʻi teaching license on the Hawaiʻi Teacher Standards Board website.

Compensation follows the Bargaining Unit 05 10‑Month salary schedule. - Paid Sick Leave: 18 days of paid sick leave; 6 may be used for personal and professional development.
