About The Role
As an Electrical and Instrumentation Technician
, you will work safely to maintain, diagnose, and repair various types of power plant equipment. This includes maintenance related to boilers and associated electrical and control equipment, repair and operation of field controllers, instrumentation, motor control centers and other power plant electrical equipment ranging from 120V to 13.8 kV, and AC switch gear. This full-time onsite position reports to the EI Supervisor and is located at the Reworld Honolulu/HPower Plant in Kapolei.
Sign on bonus eligible.
- Perform maintenance and testing of low and medium voltage switch gear, circuit breakers, motor starters, and power transformers.
- Perform maintenance of higher voltage switchyard equipment and steam turbine driven generators.
- Perform electrical maintenance work related to energy from waste boilers and its associated equipment, including pumps, fans, motors, conveyors and refuse cranes.
- Perform electrical maintenance work related to energy from waste air pollution control systems.
- Troubleshoot, assess, inspect, adjust, and repair Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) and associated instrumentation (transmitters, level controls, temperature, flue gas analysis).
- Troubleshoot, assess, inspect, and adjust Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and historian devices.
- Perform preventative maintenance tasks including routine calibration, thermography, and ultrasonic testing.
- Operate calibration equipment and perform electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repair per company safety practices.
- Troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation problems and complete maintenance work records.
- Participate in plant shutdown work, teardown inspection of electrical plant equipment, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Complete safety, compliance, and other required training/certification within assigned timelines.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the E&I management team.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Formal technical or apprentice training, preferred
- Must be able to work 10-12 hour rotating shifts
- Additional hours during planned or unplanned outages; night support may be needed. Schedule subject to change based on business needs.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
- Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs
- Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
- Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
- Work in various weather conditions
- Sunday-Monday onsite rotation, 10-12 hour shifts, 4 days per week with day and night assignments. Availability to work outages, evenings, weekends, and holidays on a non-routine basis as needed.

The expected hourly rate for this position is $38.70/hr. – $48.39/hr this is a good faith estimate; final salary will consider experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying staff equitably. These ranges are not career salary caps.
