Roles and Responsibilities

Plant Manager has responsibility to operate and maintain the plant on behalf of the customer within the boundaries of the O&M contract or Long Term Service Agreement. Maintain EHS and regulatory compliance, incident response, corrective actions and emergency preparedness. Coordinate HECO dispatch, outage notices, exceptions and reporting; support PAR steam commitments, with formal contract decisions remaining with KPLP.

Prepare annual operating plans, budgets, forecasts, maintenance spending and customer-funded Cap Ex recommendations; oversee OEM and contractor relationships. Support customer strategy, operating, and civic goals.

  • Measurable safety, regulatory, reliability and performance accountability, including incident response and corrective action.
  • Hands-on GT/ST/generator outage work: scope, maintenance planning, integrated schedules, critical-path control, OEM/contractor execution and return-to-service readiness.
  • Proficiency in scheduling work packages, dependencies, personnel and contractor resources, milestones, look-ahead plans and recovery;
    Experience with P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent.
  • Experience working within O&M contracts, utility dispatch commitments, operating budgets and approval boundaries.
