Join the Oahu Neighbor Islands Team. BAYADA Behavioral Health is a non‑profit employer seeking an in‑school Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT®). RBTs work with individuals with Autism and other Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) to reduce challenging behaviors, increase functional skills, and foster independence and individuality.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Work directly with students in the classroom, following the established service plan.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients and school teams. Respect the values, thoughts, beliefs, and attitudes of clients and families.
  • Implement behavior therapy techniques and collaborate with teachers to support the student in the classroom environment.
  • Document interventions and progress towards goals.
  • Collect behavior data as specified in client behavior plan.
  • Provide training, instruction, and assistance to help the student acquire and maintain skills and meet identified goals.
  • Provide support to the client in interpersonal skills, development, and maintenance of personal relationships, and building independence in their school routine.
  • Supports school‑age children to succeed with Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

Qualifications for a School-Based Behavior Technician
  • Registered Behavior Technician® (RBT) Certified or the desire to pursue certification (paid for by BAYADA).
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience working with children with developmental/intellectual disabilities is a plus, but not required.
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree OR 48 college credits including Math 100 and English 100 OR Passage of the Para Pro Praxis assessment (BAYADA assistance available).
