Job Summary

The food runner serves in a key supporting role for the FOH and BOH staff, ensuring all food is served within a timely and efficient pace. The position also relays important information between management, FOH and kitchen staff. The food runner must possess strong communication skills, thrive in a fast‑paced environment, pay attention to detail and multi‑task effectively.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome each guest in a professional manner with a smile and friendly greeting.
  • Vividly and accurately explain dishes to guests prior to food drop.
  • Know the ingredients and preparation methods of all dishes, sauces and condiments to answer guest questions.
  • Assist servers in coordinating food orders to guarantee timely and efficient delivery to guests.
  • Refill water and periodically check on guests to assure all needs and orders are tended to promptly.
  • Maintain high food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
  • Assist in clearing tables without returning to the kitchen empty‑handed.
  • Provide excellent customer service by always maintaining a professional and service‑oriented attitude.
  • Support staff to ensure guests have a memorable experience.
  • Respond effectively to guest inquiries and address them with the server or appropriate superior.
  • Continuously strive to improve, acquire knowledge and assist where possible.
Requirements
  • Great verbal and written communication capabilities; must speak clear, high‑level English.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts.
  • Ability to work quickly and adapt to changing work modes and demands.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
  • Able to walk or stand the entire shift.
Personal Appearance
  • Must abide by brand standards pertaining to uniform requirements.
  • All employees must maintain good personal hygiene; fingernails must be cut and clean.
  • Personal appearance must be suitable for work at all times; must be clean‑shaven.
  • Slip‑resistant black shoes.
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when using the restroom).
