Summary and relationship to the curriculum:
All classified positions will strengthen the delivery of instruction to support the system’s mission. This position provides administrative secretarial support.
- Interacts effectively with the general public, staff members, students, teachers, parents, and administrators, using tact and good judgment.
- Performs a variety of duties to support supervisory and administrative personnel in accomplishing daily activities.
- Composes, creates, edits or transcribes correspondence, e‑mails, newsletters, memorandums, and other materials.
- Maintains files, accurate records, and other important information associated with the position.
- Answers telephones, responds to inquiries, takes messages, or transfers calls appropriately. Greets visitors, ascertains nature of business and directs visitors appropriately.
- Assists in maintaining efficient office operations by providing secretarial relief whenever and wherever needed.
- Opens equipment such as computer, fax machine, copier, as well as technology devices as required by the job.
- Prepares reports and manages specific programs associated with the position as required.
- Maintains department schedule by maintaining calendars for department personnel; arranges meetings, conferences, and trips for administrators and staff.
- Prepares documents and packages for mailing, receives, stamps, and distributes mail to appropriate personnel.
- Prepares purchase orders for materials, resources, and office supplies; monitors expenses.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the department head or appropriate supervisor.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, associate degree or technical school training preferred. - Certificate or License

Must have ability to read and comprehend job specific technical information, simple instructions, short correspondence, memos and position specific manuals. Must have ability to write correspondence and reports. Must have ability to effectively articulate and present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations. - Mathematical
Skills:
Must have ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and decimals. Must have ability to conduct position related data analysis. Must have ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. - Reasoning Ability: Must be able to facilitate the problem solving processes. Must have ability to synthesize workable options from given facts, and assist in the development of workable solutions.
- Technical Ability: Must have considerable knowledge of Microsoft Office and other job specified technologies.
