Maintenance Mechanic

Overview

Position:
Maintenance Mechanic – Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level at Frito‑Lay.

The role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and installing pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems across the facility. It also supports preventive maintenance and training of entry‑level mechanics.

$43.00/hr – $43.00/hr

• Diagnose and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems, control valves, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps.
• Diagnose and repair AC/DC electrical systems, read schematics, and use testing equipment (Volt‑Ohm meter, amp meter, oscilloscope).
• Operate lathes, mills, arc and Heliarc welders for repair and fabrication.
• Assist entry‑level mechanics with complex repairs and provide technical guidance.
• Respond to maintenance calls urgently to restore equipment operation.
• Inspect machines, develop short‑term and long‑term repair plans, and manage task lists.
• Use preventive maintenance systems and track work orders to maximize equipment efficiency and reliability.
• Apply PLC knowledge and contribute to system control and maintenance workflows.

• At least 18 years old or older.
• Work weekends and holidays.
• Lift 15–50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods.
• Work in extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous/loud equipment, and slippery surfaces.
• Electrical certification, maintenance manufacturing experience, technical school training, or welding experience preferred.
• Prefer candidates with at least two years of mechanical/electrical repair training experience in a manufacturing environment.
