POSITION OVERVIEW: As a Project Accounting Specialist on the LJA Accounting team, you will be responsible for accounting and administrative support for day‑to‑day activities of Project Managers.

A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:

• Project setup and maintenance per contracted terms
• Analyzing and processing weekly/monthly invoices for client submittal – lump sum, time & material, percentage‑of‑completion basis with a strong emphasis on fixed rate schedules
• Preparing spreadsheet invoices including detailed backup documentation, detailed timesheet reports, etc.
• Updating and submitting monthly compliance reports
• Archiving documents and record management for project files, client agreements, and subconsultant contracts
• Monitoring and analyzing sub‑consultants and intercompany invoices, contracts and insurance certificates to ensure contract compliance and company policies and procedures
• Assisting Project Managers and Collections group with resolving outstanding AR issues
• Reviewing Accounts payables reports, coding entry, tracking and submitting payments per contracted terms
• Performing revenue and job cost analysis
• Working directly with various project managers, administrative support and management
• Completing special projects as requested by a supervisor or manager

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/

CERTIFICATIONS:

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2+ years of experience in a billing position
• Intermediate experience with Excel and Microsoft Office

IDEALLY, YOU SHOULD ALSO HAVE:

• Experience with billing for public/government clients is a plus
• Experience with ERP project‑based accounting systems Deltek, Unanet, or BST Global is a plus
• Experience with invoice submittal via client portals is a plus.
• Experience in the Engineering or Construction industry is a plus
• Ability to work with confidential information
