As an Industrial Designer, you will use creativity and style to design outdoor furniture and innovative products that meet consumer needs and exceed expectations. You will stay up-to-date with trends in materials, colors, textures, and manufacturing processes, and create detailed designs using CAD (Solid Works and Rhino) for production.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct in-depth market research on existing markets, competitors, trends, and manufacturing techniques; analyze findings and produce briefs to guide design concepts.
- Develop innovative product concepts aligned with Ledge's outdoor lifestyle brand; drive new product ideas from conceptualization through production.
- Create highly accurate CAD models for visualization, prototyping, and production; generate marketing collateral and manufacturing-ready files with Solid Works, Rhino, Keyshot, and VRay.
- Showcase strong creativity and passion for stylish furniture and outdoor living spaces; adapt seamlessly to changes in workflow and pivot between projects.
- Communicate concepts visually and verbally through sketching and concept sketches; articulate ideas effectively to internal teams and stakeholders.
- Interpret mechanical documents and drawings; demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills and quick learning ability.
- Maintain and improve the quality of existing product lines, ensuring designs meet safety, aesthetic, and functional standards.
- Maintain and upkeep design and shop equipment, including 3D printers; manage consumables inventory.
- Willingness to take on other product development responsibilities as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in consumer‑good product design, preferably in furniture.
- Strong sketching and conceptualization skills to communicate ideas effectively.
- Proficiency in CAD software (Solid Works, Rhino 3D) for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
- Well‑rounded knowledge of model making, including 3D printing, wood and metal tool use, and prototyping techniques.
- Work hours Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm.
USD $75,000 – $95,000
