As a CAD Technician at LJA Transportation
, you will be able to develop a strong career foundation, expand your base skills into a broader set of technical tools across multiple disciplines and be assigned project roles that best fit your interests, drive, and skills. • Create CAD drawings for engineering projects
• Create plan and profile sheets, as well as CAD file exhibits and structural detail sheets
• Complete redline markups
• Perform work from sketches, verbal instructions, and notes
• Maintain current knowledge of design and drafting procedures within the specialty field
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Create 3-D Bridge models using Open Bridge Modeler

• Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience

• 1-2 years’ experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station SS4, Micro Station CONNECT Edition, or Open Roads Designer CE
• Technical knowledge of CAD operations and engineering specialty discipline
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written
• Effective interpersonal skills with coworkers
• Must be adaptable to changes in work assignments as project needs evolve.

• 5+ years’ experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Micro Station CE, or Open Bridge Modeler CE
• Previous work experience in an AEC related firm
• Previous structural detailing experience
