Material Handler Temp-toHire

Responsibilities

• Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
• Prepares and maintains BOM records for material pulled and issued for each job.
• Organize and manage job baskets for each job.
• Deliver orders and stock material in the job baskets.
• Transport and load materials, supplies, and finished goods in the cage or racks.
• Check incoming material for accuracy when stocking the cage.
• Analyze inventory levels and take corrective actions to maintain low material levels to improve timing of deliveries.
• Collect and properly dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintain a safe and clean work environment.
• Knowledge of 5S and support safety initiatives to maintain safety awareness.
• Mentor and train team members.
• Participate and lead the toolbox talks when required.
• Complete inventory counts when required.
• Organize and label the cage and racks when needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good math and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Safely operate a forklift (following appropriate training).
• Efficient time management skills.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or other formal training in related field preferred.
• At least two years of related experience required.
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

• Able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods of time.
• Willing and able to work at heights, using ladders or lifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds at a time.
• Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, when handling box cutters or similar tools.

Note:

This position will be temp-to-hire only, meaning the role will begin on a temporary basis with the possibility of permanent placement based on performance and business needs.
