Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner role involves providing advanced healthcare services, diagnosing illnesses, prescribing medications, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver holistic patient‑centered care. Nurse Practitioners play a vital role in improving health outcomes and enhancing the quality of life for patients.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient records.
  • Check in with clients about test results and prognoses.
  • Advise patients regarding prescriptions and treatment plans.
  • Follow all federal, state, and nursing guidelines, regulations, and standards.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including x‑rays, blood work, and scans.
  • Refer patients to specialists if necessary and analyze medical records and reports.
  • Update patient charts and upload to Electronic Health Record (EHR) software.
  • Work with a team of nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and doctors to provide quality patient care.
  • Examine patients, including discussing medical history and symptoms and performing physicals.
  • Use medical database software, research software, diagnosis software, billing software, e‑prescribing software, scheduling software and billing software.
Education and Professional Experience
  • Nurse Practitioner and Registered Nurse licenses in the state of Texas.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the specialty is preferred.
  • National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner from an accredited agency.
  • Master’s in nursing required;
    Doctorate of Nursing preferred.
  • Two or more years of clinical experience as a nursing practitioner at a physician practice or in a hospital.
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish preferred.
Professional Competencies
  • Communicate effectively; speaking multiple languages is preferred.
  • Collaborate with nurse practitioners, registered nurses, doctors, and other medical professionals.
  • Problem‑solve well independently and as part of a team.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients and their families and have a stellar bedside manner.
