Responsibilities

The Per Diem RN II is responsible for providing direct nursing care by applying clinical nursing knowledge and skills, and for ensuring the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.

Qualifications

Education

Required:

Graduate from an approved RN nursing program
Preferred:
Bachelor’s Degree in nursing

Experience

Required:

3 years of RN experience

License(s)

Required:

Valid and current Texas RN license

Special Skills

Required:

Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population and for CPR, oxygen administration, and intravenous therapy; CRT experience;
Windows-based computer skills

Other

Required:

Current BLS through American Heart Association; 5 shifts per month; 3 shifts per year the day before or after a clinic holiday, with minimum of 1 shift related to a winter holiday;
Able to travel within a selected region
Preferred:
Specialty nursing certification appropriate to specialty area assigned; ACLS
